pea shellerPea and Bean Sheller Information Guide: Q. Do my peas and or beans have to be ripe? A. Peas or beans should be ripe ( as for hand shelling ) before they are ready for the machine shelling. They should be fully developed and of sufficient size with the pea or edible portion about 1/4" or larger for best results. Peas that are too green or that have been allowed to dry very hard will present a problem. World Famous Mr. Pea Sheller will handle your peas with ease! Q. Beans and peas that just will not shell without mashing what do I do? A. Probably due to either very tough pods because of growing conditions, or may be too green or too dry. These may be shelled very easily by using the following method: The peas or beans, in the pod, are blanched in boiling water from one to four minutes. Cool quickly in cold water. Now feed them through your Mr. Pea Sheller's special rollers. The results will please you. This process makes the pods or hulls tender enough that even the thin skin around the peas or beans are not damaged, and you can shell them very quickly. One minute blanching will usually soften the toughest of pods so that shelling is now easy. If you are preparing the produce for your freezer, then blanch the peas or beans four minutes and freeze after shelling. Q. Can you please tell me the the shipping cost? A. TaMaCo Huller 520 2 Bushel Commercial Pea ShellerTaMaCo Huller 520 2 Bushel Commercial Pea ShellerThe Amazing Commercial Pea and Bean ShellerThe machine pictured is the improved model is the original model 500 TaMaCo hullers. This machine is designed for medium to heavy commercial use. To shell, just lift the huller lid and remove one drum door. Dump the desired amount of peas or beans into the door opening and replace the door and lid. Turn the timer on and minutes later you have pans of beautifully shelled peas or beans. The TaMaCo huller is a drum type sheller that comes with sizes "C" and "D" doors, "C" and "D" filter screens and an "A" catch screen. This will allow you to shell most varieties of peas and standard butterbeans. If your needs are to shell extremely small peas or larger than normal butterbeans. If your needs are to shell extremely small peas or larger than normal butterbeans, additional doors and filters are available.
TaMaCo Huller Explanations DOORS: Doors are the 4 individual removable
screens that makes up the Drum or cylinder. DOORSDOOR SELECTIONS:
Some operators find that when exceptionally large peas are mixed with their
standard size peas of the same variety, they can use three standard doors
for this variety, and one larger size door to let these larger peas fall
through with a minimum of trash. FILTERSFILTER SELECTIONS:
Selection of filter is important as they help keep the lager particles of
trash out of the peas and beans that will pass through the filter
screen. Only one filter is necessary to match each of the drum doors
sets you have chosen, but if the peas or beans you are shelling will pass
through a smaller filter than the door selection, it would be
advisable to use this filter instead. Therefore, we suggest the purchase
of an extra filter that is one size smaller than the smallest drum
door set to give you a greater variety of filtering while shelling. "F"
doors do not have external shields, so a shaker filter is not
required when shelling with this set of doors.
CATCHCATCH SELECTIONS:
There are two size catches available for these hullers. The "A" catch
for use with most sizes peas and beans, such as Black-eye, Butterbean, Ford
Hook, Etc., or the "AA" catch which is used only when the operator is
shelling an extra small pea, such a turkey pea, Lady Finger Pea, etc..
Operation of an "A" catch with extra small peas would result in lost
peas to the trash pan.

The Little Sheller Operation InstructionsThe Little Sheller is simple to operate. You will ordinarily have no problem shelling peas or beans right out of the field. However, if you should encounter some difficulty, it may be necessary to loose the pith around the pea or bean before shelling. This can be accomplished by (1) picking peas or beans one day and shelling the next day. (2) When shelling on the same day they are picked, soak a few minutes in water before shelling. (3) When shelling many hampers in succession, wet your peas or beans down in hampers and allow to sit a few minutes, then start shelling. It is not necessary to dry peas before shelling, as they shell extremely well when wet. (4) If you find it necessary to store your peas in a cooler before shelling, allow them to return to room temperature or, to speed up loosening the pith, use one of the above methods. Adjustment of rollers may be required when different size peas or beans are to be shelled. There is no particular setting of rollers as this is done by operator for each type or size of pea or bean shelled. We suggest using the following procedure to adjust the rollers:
